These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Pocket Shimeji: Screen Pet (the "App"), developed by BBL TECHNOLOGY LTD ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms and compliance with Google Play's terms of service.
Pocket Shimeji lets you place an animated virtual pet ("Shimeji") that walks, climbs, and sits on top of other apps on your screen, as a live wallpaper, and/or as a home-screen widget. You can browse a pet catalog (including assets delivered over the network), unlock more through in-app progress (score/streak), and draw or import your own custom pet using a photo you choose.
The App also includes an optional emoji / custom status-bar battery overlay that can decorate the system status area. Enabling that feature may require an Accessibility service used only to align and display the overlay (see our Privacy Policy).
Some appearance and catalog-tab settings may be configured remotely (Firebase Remote Config) so we can improve the product without requiring an app update.
If you create a custom pet by drawing it or by cropping a photo you choose, that content is stored only on your own device — we never receive a copy of it, and it is not shared with other users or made public anywhere. You are responsible for only using images you have the right to use. Deleting the App, or deleting a custom pet from the Collection screen, removes that content from your device.
The App may offer optional paid features (for example Premium unlocks) sold through Google Play Billing. Prices are shown in the App / Play purchase sheet in your local currency. Purchases are charged by Google and are subject to Google Play’s Terms of Service and payment policies. Refunds and subscription management (if applicable) are handled according to Google Play’s policies and tools. You are responsible for any taxes that apply. We may verify purchase status with Google Play to unlock entitlements on your device.

To function, the App may request: display-over-other-apps (pet overlay), foreground service (keep the overlay running), notifications (overlay notice and optional streak reminder), boot-completed (restore overlay after restart), Accessibility (optional emoji/battery status overlay only), and Internet (catalog/CDN content, ads, Firebase, and Play Billing). See our Privacy Policy for what each permission is used for. You can decline non-essential permissions; the App is designed to keep working with reduced functionality when you do.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BBL TECHNOLOGY LTD will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use the App.
We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the App, or your ability to use it, if you violate these Terms. Ending use of the App does not automatically cancel Google Play purchases or subscriptions; manage those in Google Play.
